Look it up together rather than answering from above. Finding out with them is the education.
Read above their level
They understand far more than they can decode. Rich language now pays off later.
Protect the long game
Do not tidy away an unfinished world. Interrupted play is the most common loss at this age.
Cook and build together
Real tasks with real results hold more learning than any worksheet.
Let boredom happen
The quiet stretch before an idea arrives is not empty time.
